On reflection this week had two highlights, on Wednesday the Skype chat and during the latter part of the week the anticipation of the digital artefact project.
The Skype discussion has been lively and brought much needed clarification to some of the issues relating to the recommended articles, clarifying aspects such as what is understood by ‘mode’ or the value in comparing the effectiveness of text-based reseources and discourse over pictorial/media based communication in the light of reaching ( ’sucking up’ to) the digital natives (apologies for the language).
The perception of academic writing as a separate genre was a particular enlightenment, and quite obvious with hindsight.
There was little communication on Twitter from my side during the week, as its initial excitement has wained.

Durinng the weekend much time and effort has been invested into the Digital Artefact project, first in sourcing the material, consisting mainly images and music, with a coupel of YouTube clips and then putting everything together by experimenting with software never used before.
My particular experience in undertaking this project will be described elsewhere.
Time is flying fast on this module and there is certainly enough variety on offer to fend off boredom.
